Contracting Services
Our contracting services can provide huge SAVINGS for our clients!
There are many reasons people turn to Rope Access & Rescue to undertake their difficult access works:
IMPECCABLE SAFETY RECORD
We adhere to the guidelines set out by the Industrial Rope Access Trade Association. These are stringent protocols that govern how we approach and perform our work. All operatives are trained and assessed to to either level 1,2 or 3 depending on there experience and compency.
Level one is considered a trainee and must be closely supervised by a level 3.
Level2 is considered a competent operative but still subjected to level 3 supervision.
Level 3 is considered a supervisor and is responsible from the planning of the work and the safety of his team. Our teams are typically made up of at least one level 3, and a tight ratio of supervisors to trainees is maintained.
The Industrial Rope Access Trade Association keeps statistics on the number of incidents compared to the number of man hours worked in the industry within their guidelines on a global scale. A copy of these can be downloaded from our downloads page.
Rope Access & Rescue have been running incident free since day one. A safety record we are very proud of and determined to maintain.
SKILLED WORKFORCE
Rope Access & Rescue see the value in running a highly skilled and effective workforce. The success of our business depends highly on how well our team performs for our clients. To this end, we continually assess and develop the skills of each team member to ensure we have a truly multi-disciplined operative.
We also recognise that some of our clients require more specialised trade skills, such as welders, electricians and NDT technicians. To deliver to these more specialist requirements, we recruit the tradespersons with the required skills and put them through our dedicated difficult access training centre in Burleigh Heads (link to training centre page). We then partner them up with our level 3 supervisors and mobilise the the team to our clients site. We have found this using this combination gets the work done to the highest possible quality whilst maintaining the highest level of safety and our unique ability to access the most difficult locations.
EFFICIENCY
Rope access is without doubt an extremely efficient way of working. Our teams are light weight and mobile thanks to the equipment used for access. Most jobs can be performed using equipment that can be carried in backpacks by each team member!
After the planning and site set-up phases, deployment of the ropes and access to the work position can be achieved in minutes. Once the task has been completed, moving to the next position or de-mobilising the site can be just as quick. compare this to the time, weight and impact of more traditional access methods, and you will find our work often completed within the time taken to build a scaffold.
UNIFIED COST OF ACCESS AND LABOUR
Why pay twice? One cost for access equipment such as cherry picker, scaffold or swing stage; then another cost for labour to work from that platform. With Rope Access & Rescue the cost of access is included with the cost of the labour. In fact we frequently find our prices for a completed job to be inline with just the cost of scaffold or machinery! For many of our clients this is where they perceive the real value of what we do.
DOCUMENTATION
Having the right level of documentation is vital to comply with the requirements of OH&S. Rope Access & Rescue have developed comprehensive proformas for all of our site documents.
Safe Work Method Statements, carefully considered Rescue Plans, Site Induction forms, Toolbox Talks, Incident report forms on so on. These are compiled into a site management file and reviewed regularly while on site.
INSURANCES
The correct level of insurance in this industry is essential. At Rope Access & Rescue we have chosen to maintain three insurances policies to cover all of our business related activities.
Our Public Liability policy covers up $20million, this is usually sufficient for dealing with major safety focused organisations and government agencies.
We also maintain a Professional Liability policy, this covers our installed services, professional advice (errors and omissions), and our engineering services to an amount of $20million. because we sell height safety products, we have a Products insurance to the amount of $20million also. Then we have the mandatory workers compensation policies for al our staff. We find having such a comprehensive and high value insurance policy brings peace of mind to our valued clients.
